…a beautiful small house a day…

A very nice alternative for my next house. Not bigger, but smaller. Less stuff, less footprint. Dematerialize is something that I really feel strongly about. And I am not the only one. More and more friends around have expressed their desire to move into smaller alternative housing now that their children will leave in the next couple of years.

Sounds familiar?

LOT-EK: “The Shipping Container Is a Vehicle to Invent New Architecture”

…a shipping container a day…a beautiful building a day…

PUMA City, 2008. Image © Danny Bright Shipping containers , once a darling of architectural upcycling, have received a lot of criticism recently, as architects are beginning to recognize that their perceived advantages—ready-made habitable space and structure, and an opportunity to recycle a widely available material—are based in little more than hopeful PR spin .

More and more articles on the possibilities of container building. Not only as a form of sustainability but also more and more within the tiny houses movement. The possibilities seem endless.

That has been a really long time since a post like this appeared here. I have just been too busy with other things I guess to remember my initial morning routine. So it is back for now. Never know what will happen next.
