Final notes on presentation this morning in Brussel for the Health WG of the ERRIN network.  Together with Arnhem Nijmegen City Region office. 

There is no such thing as coincidence…revisited

Last week Nanette and her best friend for almost 30 years went to see Marc-Marie Huijbregts, a Dutch performer. It will probably be their last visit together since her girlfriend is terminally ill.

At the end of the show, MM sings a Joni Mitchell song; ‘Both Sides Now’ in a Dutch translation. It was therefore not immediately recognizable for them…

Then it struck her…For her funeral, she has chosen two songs to be played. One of them is Joni’s…

Ik loop op straat met in mijn hand mijn fiets,

Als een gemankeerde wandelaar of gevallen coureur.

Het is  een druk parkours, haastig op weg naar huis,

verschijn je uit het niets, als in een droom.

Een windvlaag over een natte zomerhuid,

Net uit de zon.

Na van de eerste schrik te zijn bekomen, als een rilling over je rug,

Stel je me voor aan je zoon.

De eerste keer dat ik hem zie,

die gelijkenis,

tussen jou en hem,

en mij, er is niets veranderd.

In het landschap van een schilder,

Staat alles stil, parallel aan elkaar,

een foto van een mooie dag,

5 uur 42, 238 seconden lang.

The owners experienced a sort of ‘love at first sight’ feeling when they looked at the various architectural proposals. I can understand when I look at the way they made optimal use of the area possibilities.
